This tutorial was written by me on April 19th, 2015 and is my own creation. Any resemblance to any other tutorial is purely coincidental and unintentional.

PSP Version used: PSP X5

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP.


Tube of choice. I am using the art of Chris Pastel. I purchased this tube from Inzpired Creationz Store, which is now closed. You can now purchase his tubes here.

PTU kit by Scottish Butterfly Creations called Angel. You can purchase this kit here.

Font of choice. I am using Rundkursiv.


VM Extravaganza – Transmission


Open a new blank canvas, 600 x 200.

Open Paper 10. Paste as a new layer onto the blank canvas.

Add your elements:

Fan – resize by 60%. Place to the far left, slightly down from the center. Duplicate, & place to the far right.
Cloud – resize by 60%. Paste as a new layer.
Rose – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom. Duplicate 3 times. Place each rose along the bottom, spaced out evenly.
Flower – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom. Duplicate 4 times & arrange between the roses. See my tag for placement.
Sparkles – paste as a new layer.

Open your tube & paste as a new layer above the paper layer. Duplicate 3 times and place to your liking. Once satisfied, merge the tube layers together. Duplicate the merged layer, gaussian blur, 3.00. Set the blend mode to screen, 55.

On the original merged layer, VM Extravaganza – Transmission, 6, 0, 40. Set the blend mode for this layer to soft light, 55.

Open your tube again, resizing as necessary. Paste as a new layer above your flower layers and place between the fans.

In your materials palette, set the foreground to #cabbcc & your background to #341a37. Create a linear gradient using these colors, repeats 3, angle 45.

Add a new raster layer and floofill with the gradient. Select all, selections, modify, contract by 2. Press delete. Deselect. Add noise, uniform, 75, monochrome checked.

Add another raster layer. Floodfill with #ffffff. Select all, selections, modify, contract by 3. Press delete, then deselect. Move this layer below the noise frame layer. Merge the two frame layers together.

Add your name, copyrights, & license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice, then merge visible. Save as a PNG.

For the avatar, remove the name, copyrights, & frame layers. Crop your image to a size between 150 & 200 or to your preference. Repeat the steps to make the frame layer, then add your name or initial, copyrights, & license info.
