PSP Version used: PSP X5

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge
of PSP.

Supplies:

Tube of choice. I am using an exclusive prepaid tube from Jay Trembly when he was with SATC. He is now retired and his tubes no longer available.

PTU Fabulous 50s kit by Freeks Creations. You can purchase it here

Template 238 by Toxic Desirez. You can find it here

Mask 2 from Mask Set 24 by me. You can grab it here

Font of choice. I am using Swinger Casual.

Open your template & mask. Minimize your mask for now.

On your template, delete the credits layer. Set the canvas size to 850 x 729. Resize all layers by 71%.

Open Paper 1. Copy & paste as a new layer just above the Raster 1 layer. Apply your mask, merge group.

Now lets add the remaining papers:

Raster 8 – Paper 7
Raster 9 – Paper 6
Raster 7 – Paper 3
Raster 6 & Copy of Raster 6 – Paper 8
Raster 3 – Paper 6
Raster 5 – Paper 5
Raster 2 – Paper 1
Raster 10 – Paper 5
Raster 11 – Shift + L, 0, 0. Add noise, gaussian, 25, monochrome checked.
Raster 4 – Paper 7

Now you can add your elements:

Ribbon – resize by 92%; place to the bottom
Splatter – resize by 80%; place to the top of the template.
Juke Box – resize by 55%; place to the bottom right.
Car – resize by 65%; place to the bottom center.
Cola – resize by 40%; place to the bottom left.
Fries – resize by 30%; place to the bottom left side of the cola.
Fuzzy Dice – resize by 35%; place to the upper right.
Jacket – resize by 50%; place to the upper left corner, rotate slightly to the left.

Add your tube, resize as necessary. Place so she is sitting on the car.

Add your name, copyright, & license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice, then merge visible. Save as a PNG.

Apocalypse

Template 578 by Millie’s PSP Madness. You can find it here

Font of choice. I am using 28 Days Later.

Filters:

Xero Porcelain

Open your template & mask. Minimize your mask for now.

On your template, delete the credits layer. Merge together the following layers:

6, 7, & 8

1 & 2

Set the canvas size to 614 x 614, then resize all layers by 98%, or 600 x 600.

Open Paper 8. Copy & paste as a new layer above the background layer. Apply your mask, merge group.

Next, we will add our papers to the template layers:

Merged 1 & 2 layer – Paper 5
Layer 3 – Paper 4
Layer 4 – Paper 10
Layer 5 – Paper 2
Merged 6, 7, & 8 layer – Paper 6

Now lets add our elements:

Glass – resize by 96%; paste as a new layer above the circle layer.
Downed Wires – paste as a new layer; place to the upper right.
Silhouette 2 – resize by 80%; paste as a new layer and place just below the left most power line.
LightBurst – resize by 70%; paste as a new layer so the top sparkle point is at the bottom of the zombie.
Blood Splatter – flip horizontal; paste as a new layer above the topmost paper layer & place to the upper right.
Halftone – flip horizont; resize by 80%. Paste as a new layer & place to the bottom right.
Gun – paste as a new layer; place to the top of the halftone.
Survival Kit – resize by 40%; paste as a new layer & place to the bottom, slightly to the left.
Hand – resize by 45%; flip horizontal & paste as a new layer to the bottom left.
Gas Mask – resize by 30%, paste as a new layer & place to the bottom left between the hand & kit.
Virus – resize by 30%; paste as a new layer & rotate slightly to the right. Place between the first two rectangles.
Cupcake – resize by 40; place to the bottom right.

Now lets add our tube layers.

This tube came with several different layers. I used the tube with part of the background for the 3 merged layers as follows:

Copy and paste as a new layer and place over the first two rectangles. Xero Porcelain, change the blue to 0.

On the paper layer for the rectangles, select all, float, defloat. On the tube layer, selections, invert and press delete, deselect. Using the same tube again, flip horizontal. Paste as a new layer and place over the third rectangle.

Xero Porcelian using the same settings as before.

On the paper layer again, select all, float, defloat. On the tube layer, selections, invert and press delete. Deselect. Now using your eraser tool, erase any part of the second tube that covers the middle rectangle. Merge the two tube layers together.

Duplicate the merged tube layer, gaussian blur, 3.00. Set the blend mode to screen, 40. On the original merged tube layer, set the blend mode to Luminance (L), 45.

Open your tube without the extras & resize as necessary. Paste as a new layer just above the blood splat layer. Place slightly to the right. Repeat the Xero Porcelain filter. Duplicate, gaussian blur, 3.00. Set the blend mode to Overlay. On the original layer, Shift + L, 0, 0.

Add your name, copyright, & license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice, if desired.

Merge visible & save as a PNG.

Rainbow Dreams

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PSP.

Supplies:

PTU kit by Freeks Creations. You can find the kit here or here

Font of choice. I am using Poplar Std.

Open a blank canvas 600 x 600.

Open Paper 5 & resize by 17%. Minimize. In your materials palette, set your foreground to null, and your background to your paper.

Activate your text tool and find your font. I chose size 200. Type out your name and then convert to a raster layer.

Select all, float, defloat. Selections, modify, set selection borders: Both sides checked, border width 3, anti-alias checked.

Open Paper 6. Resize by 17%. Copy and paste as a new layer. Selections, invert and press delete. Deselect.

Add noise, guassian, 25, monochrome checked.

Add a slight drop shadow, then merge down with the text layer.

Now to add your elements. You can use the ones I used, or you may add different ones. I used the following elements:

Splash – resize by 36%; move this layer to the bottom.
Flower – resize by 15%; place to the top right side of the text. Duplicate, flip horizontal. Place to the top left side of the text. Merge down with the original flower. Duplicate again, flip vertical and move to the bottom of the text. Merge all the flower layers together.
Pinwheel – resize by 10%; place to the right side above the text layer.
Lolli – resize by 15%; rotate slightly to the left and place to the left of the pinwheel, slightly down.
Ribbon 2 – resize by 23%; place to the bottom of the text.
Cupcake – resize by 12%; place to the bottom of the pinwheel & lolli.
Flower 3 – resize by 10%; flip horizontal. Place to the top of your text between the sets of your lilies. Duplicate & move this copy to the bottom of your text.
Fairy – resize by 15%; place to the top of your text & move this layer below the duplicate yellow flower.
Splash 2 – resize by 12%; place to your liking.
Milkshake – resize by 8%; place to the far left & move this layer to the top.
Candy – resize by 10%; place to the bottom of your milkshake.
Bird – resize by 8%; place over your candy.

Add a drop shadow of choice & merge visible. Apply any copyrights that you may want to add.

Save as a PNG.

Spring Afternoons

This tutorial assumes you have a good working knowledge of PS.

Supplies:

Tube of choice. I am using the stunning art of Alex Prihodko. You can purchase his tubes here

PTU kit Spring Afternoons by Freek’s Creations. You can purchase this kit here

Font of choice. I am using Young & Beautiful.

Filters:

EyeCandy 4000 Gradient Glow (for text, optional)
Penta.com Color Dot
Filters Unlimited 2.0

Open the Grass Weave. Resize by 38%. Set your canvas size to 600 x 600 px.

Open Paper 5. Resize by 17%. Place you paper below the frame.

With your Polygon Lasso Tool, select along the inside of the frame just slightly larger than the frame opening. Select, inverse. With the paper layer selected, press delete. Deselect.

Open Brush 2. Resize by 42%. Place to the right side. Duplicate, flip horizontal. Place to the left side and merge these two layers together. Move this layer to the bottom.

Now let’s add the remaining elements:

Wall – resize by 35%; place to bottom left.
Fluff – resize by 35%; place to left. Duplicate, place to the right & merge these two layers together.
Birdhouse – resize by 18%; place to the bottom left.
Hearts – resize by 28%; place to your liking.
Grass – resize by 27%; place to the bottom left. Duplicate, place to the bottom right.
Kite – resize by 20%; place to the right side.
Flower – resize by 8%; place along the top of the wall. Duplicate, place to the top right, along the frame.
Tag – resize by 15%; place on the kite where the kite meets the string.

On your paper layer, Filters Unlimited 2.0, Paper Textures, Striped Paper, Fine using the settings of your choice.

Open your tube. Place your tube over the paper layer to the left side, slightly down. Duplicate, flip horizontal and place this copy to the right side and slightly up. Merge your tube layers together. Ctrl+Click on the paper thumbnail. Select, inverse and press delete. Deselect.

Duplicate your tube layer, blur, gaussian blur, 3.00. Set the blend mode to Screen.

On the original merged tube layer, Penta.com Color dot. Change the distance to 10. Set the blend mode to Luminosity, opacity 50.

Open your tube again, resizing as necessary. Place as the top layer, to your liking.

Add your name, copyrights, & license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice then merge visible. Save as a PNG.

Font of choice. I am using Weltron.

Open your template. Set the canvas size to 750 x 580. Resize all layers by 80%. Delete the credits, stars & text layers.

Open Paper 4 & your mask. Copy & paste as a new layer above the background layer. Apply your mask, merge group. Move to the right side. Duplicate, flip horizontal & place to the left side. Merge your mask layers together.

Now to add your paper layers from the bottom to top:

Raster 14 & Copy of Raster 14 – Paper 7
Raster 12 – Paper 10
Raster 11 & Copy of Raster 11 – Paper 9

Raster 10 & Copy of Raster 10 – Select all, float, defloat. Add a new raster layer. Create a linear gradient using #269ca6, #f7f7f7, & #d93365, angle 45, repeats 2. Floodfill with your gradient. Deselect and add noise, gaussian, 25, monochrome checked.

Raster 7 & Copy of Raster 7 – Paper 1
Raster 9 – using the same gradient as before, except change the angle to 315. Select all, float, defloat. Add a new raster layer and floodfill with your gradient. Deselect.
Raster 8 – Paper 11
Raster 6 – Manual color correction. Set the source to #f95a99, target to #d93365.
Raster 3 – Manual color correction. Set the source to #1ea6bf, target to #269ca6.
Raster 5 – Floodfill with your gradient, angle 315.
Raster 4 – Paper 12
Rounded edge rectangle2 – Paper 6
Raster 2 – Paper 9
Raster 1 – Floodfill with your gradient, angle 45.

Now lets add your elements:

Broken Glass – resize by 83%. Place below the pink strips layer.
Splash – resize by 69%. Place above the blue strip layer.
Stage Lights – resize by 40%. Place on the top layer, to the upper right corner.
Drumsticks – resize by 30%. Place to the left side.
Keys – resize by 90%. Place to the bottom, flip horizontal.
Drums – resize by 65%. Place to the bottom right.
Bling – resize by 92%.
Ribbon4 – resize by 92%. Place to the bottom.
Speakers2 – resize by 40%. Place to the lower left.
BackstagePass – resize by 30%. Place to the bottom of the speaker.
Bow – resize by 40%. Place to the left side of the stage lights.
Microphone – resize by 25%. Place to the bottom right, slightly in from the right.
Sparkles – resize by 75%.

Now for the tube layers:

Open your tube and place a copy over each of the black square layers. On each black square layer, select all, float, defloat. On the tube layer, selections, invert and press delete. Deselect.

For each tube layer, duplicate, gaussian blur 3.00. Set the blend mode to Screen, opacity 80. On the original layer, set the blend mode to Screen, opacity 55.

Still on the original layer, Effects, Artistic Effects, Halftone using the following settings:

Round, 3, 108, Use as overlay checked, Screen, 50, Greyscale. Ink black, background white.

Copy & paste your tube again just above the bow layer. Resize as necessary and place to your liking. Duplicate, gaussian blur 3.00. Set the blend mode to Screen, opacity 73.

Add your name, copyright, and license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice and then merge visible. Save as a PNG.

Open your template & mask. Minimize mask for now.

On your template, set the canvas size to 900 x 650. Resize all layers by 67%. Delete the credits layer.

Open Paper 5. Copy & paste as a new layer just above the background layer. Apply your mask, merge group.

Add the papers to the template layers from bottom to top:

Rectangle White – Paper 6
Rectangle Pink – Paper 3
Circle 1 & 2 – Paper 2
Shape 1, 2, & 3 – Paper 4
Rectangle White – Paper 6
Rectangle Pink – Paper 11

Now let’s add the elements, from bottom to top:

Kissmark – resize by 20%; place over the top left corner of Paper 11.
Lights – resize by 79%; place so the lights hang halfway across Paper 11.
Cupcake – resize by 30%; place to the bottom left.
Bow – resize by 25%; rotate slightly to the left & place to the top left, covering the end of the lights. Duplicate, flip horizontal, and place over the end of the lights on the right side.
Hat – resize by 25%; place to the bottom right.
Bouquet – resize by 30%; place towards the top.
Button – resize by 20%; place to the bottom left side of the cupcake.
Flask – resize by 20%; place to the right side of the cupcake.
Whiskey – resize by 25%; place to the right side of the hat.
Stamp – resize by 20%; place to the bottom of the hat, rotate slightly to the right.
Shoe – resize by 25%; place over the cupcake.
Light Burst – resize by 60%; place to the right.
Sparkles – resize by 69%.
WordArt – resize by 79%; place to the bottom.
Flower2 – resize by 30%; flip horizontal and place to the bottom along the text, just before the text loop.

Now to add your tube layers:

Open your tube and place over Paper 11. Duplicate and arrange the 2 tubes over this layer. Merge the tube layers. On Paper 11 layer, select all, float, defloat. On the merged tubes layer, selections, invert and press delete. Deselect.

Duplicate the tubes layer, gaussian blur 3.00. Set the blend mode to Screen.

On the original layer, PhotoEffex Scanlines using the default settings. Set the blend mode for this layer to Luminance(L), opacity 60.

Just above the sparkles layer, paste your tube again. Flip horizontal and resize as necessary. Place slightly to the right. Duplicate, gaussian blur using the same settings as before. Set the blend mode to Screen, opacity 75.

Apply a drop shadow of choice to your layers.

Hide your mask layer. With one of the layers above the mask layer highlighted, merge visible. Objects, align, Center In Canvas. Unhide your mask layer and merge visible again.

Add your name, copyrights, and license info. Drop shadow on your name. Merge visible and save as a PNG.

Kisses Like Candy II

Tag Template 1 by me. You can find it here

Mask 50 by Rosesblack. You can find it here

Font of choice. I am using Will & Grace.

Open your template & mask. Minimize your mask for now.

On the template, delete the credits layer.

Open Paper 7. Copy and paste as a new layer. Apply your mask, merge group. Move this layer just above the background layer. Duplicate your mask layer twice. Merge the mask layers together and delete the background layer.

Merge together the following layers:

Right Square & Left Square
Top Rec & Bottom Rec

Now to add your papers to the template layers:

Merged square layers – Paper 2
Merged rec layers – Paper9
Lg Rec layer – Paper 6
Med Rec layer – Paper 1
Rec Frame layer – Paper 3, add noise uniform, 50, monochrome checked
Dotted Lines layer – manual color correction. Set the source to #000000, the target to #872234

Now for the elements, which will be placed above the dotted lines layer:

Love Letters – place to your liking.
Candle – resize by 50%. Place to the bottom right.
Petals – place to the bottom.
Ribbon2 – place to the bottom
Tag – resize by 40%. Place to the top left corner of the frame.
String – place to the top of your tag.
Flower – resize by 40%. Place to the top of the tag.
Lolli – resize by 80%. Place to the top left.
Bon Bons – resize by 40%, flip horizontal. Place to the top left.
Flower Box – place to the bottom left.
Glass – resize by 80%. Place to the left side of the flower box.
Sparkles2 – place to your liking.

Now let’s place your tube:

With your green paper layer highlighted, place your tube over paper. Duplicate your tube, flip horizontal and move this copy just below your frame layer, inside the frame.

On the green paper layer, select all, float, defloat. On the tube layer just above this layer, selections, invert and press delete. Deselect. Duplicate this tube layer, gaussian blur 3.00. Set the blend mode to Screen, opacity 65. On the original tube layer, set the blend mode to Luminance (L), opacity 55.

On the blue paper layer, select all, float, defloat. On the tube layer just above this layer, selections, invert and press delete. Deselect. Duplicate the tube, gaussian blur using the same settings. Set the blend mode to Screen, opacity 65. Set the opacity for the original layer to 55.

Add a copy of your tube jut below the flower box layer. Duplicate, gaussian blur with the same settings. Set the blend mode to Overlay, opacity 45.

Merge visible and resize your tag to your liking.

Add your name, copyright, and license info. Apply a drop shadow of choice and then merge visible. Save as a PNG.
